Short-Term Ministry

Short-Term Ministry

Uniquely qualified teams respond to local pastors who recognize spiritual needs in their community and invite us to minister alongside them.

Our approach to short-term ministry begins with pastors who identify spiritual needs in their communities that, for a variety of reasons, they are unable to meet. Invited to walk alongside them, we identify people uniquely qualified to respond to those needs and ask them to prayerfully consider joining the team.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms”

1 Peter 4:10

The welcoming of short-term ministry teams and the intended purpose of their visit ought to be viewed in light of our long-term organizational strategy designed to fulfill our vision of freedom from poverty of body, mind, and spirit.

Sacrificial Worship
2022

June TBD

A conference devoted to understanding what it meant that Jesus sacrificed his life for us. What did the woman who anointed Jesus with oil sacrifice? What did Job sacrifice? What did the disciples sacrifice? What have you given up because of Jesus that you would have otherwise not? Wealth (income, retirement, healthcare), relationships (parents, children, friends, marriage), justice, security?

Biblically Accurate and Gospel Centered

Our passion for biblically accurate ministry and teaching challenges us all to set aside our socio-cultural norms in favor of the Word of God. The team includes spiritually mature members who, together with local pastors, examine these truths as they intertwine with the ministry program.

Missions and ministry center around obeying Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). Local pastors prepare networks of mature believers to disciple those who commit their lives to Christ as a result of our ministry program.

Pastoral Encouragement and Member Inspiration

Existing relationships with local pastors inspire respect and motivate us to work alongside them in support of their vision for their churches and communities. Your host, together with host pastors, designs the short-term ministry program with that vision in mind.

Short-term ministry program content and activities are purposefully designed to prepare and motivate believers to have a kingdom impact within their own communities.

Missionary Support and Team Experience

Short-term team members acknowledge the wisdom of experience that comes from our long-term presence in the community and the careful negotiation of relationships there. They commit themselves to supporting the work that went on before them and will continue on after them. While short-term teams are transient in nature, their influence is not.

Short-term ministry teams make possible the success of our strategic ministry goals. We value their skills, their commitment, and their willingness to serve the Lord alongside us even if only for a short time. The host missionary wishes to create an environment where their visit will be personally transformative.

“Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise His name; proclaim His salvation day after day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.”
